Not too Dark, Not too Light

So, although most to all of you know that I get airbrush tanned, I bet you don’t know the why of it all. I thought I would explain. I began working out at the gym in Florida in my twenties and I was always wearing shorts. I am a natural red head, with the natural red headed skin color to boot and I was always so white, I begin (like a dummy!!! – real dummy I might add) to go to the tanning bed. By doing that I had some color, but was of course, never dark skinned or really even tan and all the while I was damaging my skin. Then my husband and I went on a cruise with some friends after about 3 years of my tanning bed tanning and when we picked them up one girl had really dark skin. Funny thing was she was just recovering from the chicken pox, so I said to her, “I know you didn’t go to the tanning bed with the chicken pox, did you?” She replied, “No, I got airbrush tanned.” Needless to say as soon as we got back from our trip I scheduled an appointment. Wow! I had never been so dark. Darkest tan of my life. I was in love with my new color.

I have continued to do it for years now and I can’t think of a better way to treat my skin and my body if I want to have some color. Currently, Rachel Chunn at Mandalay Mist Bronzing Spa & Boutique has been tanning me as last summer they added airbrush tanning to their spray booth tanning boutique in Brandon off Gornto Lake Rd. Such a cute place….take a peek.

Matter of fact, they are having their annual Holiday Event on 12/10, this Thursday beginning at 4:00 if you have never been in and want to check it out.

In NY, customers can pay as much at $100 for an airbrush tan, but Rachel charges just $40. The color is so natural and doesn’t wear off on your clothes.  You get custom attention and if you aren’t into to someone actually tanning you there is always the spray tan booth, again a much healthier option than anything else.

I am so glad that this option has come around for me and has grown in popularity over the years. So this holiday season if you want some color for a party, check out Mandalay Mist… it rocks!
