Meditations

June 25th, 2009

Here are few meditations that I have picked up through my trainings and from other yoga teachers. Credit has been noted where due. Hopefully soon I will be able to record them as podcasts for you to play.
Feel free to share any that you know of.
Nature Meditation – received from Shayla at Asheville Yoga Center
Begin by finding a place in nature to go. This could be a real place that you have been to before, or a fictional one that you make up and have never been to.
Pause to do this.
See yourself in this place, notice what is around you. Pause.
Visualize whatever you see, the sun, the shade, water, meadows, streams, mountains, etc.
Maybe you feel that air that merges with your skin, or sounds of the breeze, water flowing, birds chirping, etc.
Look at the scence and merge with it.
In this place, you have no responsibilities, no rules. You are not a mom, dad, sister, brother, daughter, son, husband, wife, friend. You have no job, no responsibilities. You are not a teacher or a nurse, an engineer or a manager you are just here in peace.
Experience whatever is there.
How do you feel about being here and having no responsibilities.
Pause for a longer time.
Then slowly begin to come out or stay as long as you like.
Maybe you want to journal after write what you learned.
