What a great day to exude happiness!

Certainly it being Friday, makes it really easy to be more happy as we move into a refreshing weekend of friends and fun, but we should really cherish what makes up happy each and every day.

I decided to blog about something a little different for a change and jotted 19 things (since today is Friday the 19th) that make me happy off the top of my head, boy was it easy – thoughts of happiness just came pouring out.

To Me Happiness is:

Mindfulness Practices

October 21st, 2009

So since I finally got this site up and running, I am able to release this wonderful post about my recent trip to Asheville for another yoga teacher training. This one was on mindfulness practices, with Shayla Worsley. It was amazing of course! We did some great activities to enable us to be mindful of the present moment. Just a few of the great things we did were viewing an apple and its process (how it came to our hands) before eating it (I couldn’t even mine, wasn’t hungry anyway, but felt bad after all that hard work was put into just get the apple to my hands), we talked about discussing problems and feelings with others and she mentioned a guy named Jerry Donahue that lives right across from the studio and does workshops on healthy/compassionate communication.  And, we did the coolest activity where we took a look at some of the most beautiful Mandalas ever as we participated in Yantra meditation. Look at the one (below) of  the one that I got in class. Isn’t it beautiful?

Of course, I took the picture of it after I meditated. smile

On Sunday afternoon, I participated in an optional yoga class called Fall Flow. It was awesome too. I didn’t really realize (until I took the class) that the fall season is all about letting go. That totally makes sense because, if you think about it, the leaves fall off the trees and they just Let Go! During the flow class we were able to listen to live music played by a local Kirtan band. It was beautiful and spritual.

To top it off, take a look at some cool pictures I took when I wasn’t practicing. You gotta love NC in the fall.

Welcome

June 23rd, 2009

Welcome to Tiffany the Yogini’s blog where we discuss yoga, meditations, mantras, etc. You probably want to know more about me first and why you should read this site as a resource/reference.
Teaching yoga is a huge passion of mine. I completed all of the trainings listed here under the Asheville Yoga Center in Asheville, NC. I hold certifications in Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Pre-Natal Yoga, Yin Yoga, and my big certification in multi-style yoga, although Vinyasa Flow is my favorite.
As, I began to teach yoga in gyms, studios, and even my garage. I found that as a new teacher I wanted more easy, upfront information, such as cool music, good sequences to refer to/get ideas from, powerful words to say when teaching, etc. I have created this blog for that very reason, to help others read, post and share their thoughts and ideas more easily.
I currently teach yoga at Serenity Stream in Brandon, FL, Yogani Studios, in Tampa, FL and my lovely garage (where I host community yoga – during the summer). Check out their schedules and come to one of my classes anytime.
I have conducted workshops for all of the types of yoga that I am certified to teach and am looking at adding workshops about enhancing your creativity and Aryuveda.
